Terms and Conditions
User Agreement · Last updated: 6 November 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Zim Market ("Zim Market", "we", "us"). They apply to the Zim Market app and website. Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
By creating an account or using Zim Market, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Zim Market.
2. Who can use Zim Market
- You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a binding agreement.
- The information you give us must be true, complete and kept up to date.
- You may have one account. Do not create accounts for other people or pretend to be someone else.
3. What Zim Market is, and is not
Zim Market is a free platform that helps people in Zimbabwe find service providers, post and browse job listings, post marketplace listings for goods, services and vacancies, and message each other.
Zim Market is not an employer, agent, broker, insurer or party to any agreement between a client and a provider. We do not check the skills, licences, insurance or conduct of every user, and we do not control the work, its price or its quality.
4. Free to use
Using Zim Market is free. We do not charge a commission, a finder fee or any other fee on jobs. The full agreed price goes from the client to the provider.
The only paid feature is boosting (section 5.2), which is optional.
5. Payments
5.1 Jobs are paid face to face. Clients and providers agree the price, the payment method and the timing with each other directly, and pay each other in person. Zim Market does not receive, hold, send or guarantee any job money. Keep a record of what was agreed and what was paid.
5.2 Boosts are an optional paid feature that makes a provider or a job listing appear higher for 14 days. Boosts are paid by EcoCash or Mukuru to the number shown in the app, quoting the reference shown. A boost starts once we have confirmed your payment, which can take a few hours. Boost fees are generally not refundable once the boost has started, except where the law requires otherwise or where we have made an error.
5.3 Check the number and the reference carefully before you send money for a boost. We are not responsible for money sent to the wrong number or without the correct reference.
5.4 Zim Market is not responsible for any losses, disputes or unpaid amounts for jobs after payment is made face to face, or for any money a user loses to another user, including through fraud or non-payment.
6. Accounts
- Sign-up uses your email address and a password. We may send you a 6-digit code to confirm your email.
- Keep your password and codes private. You are responsible for anything that happens through your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using your account.
7. Identity verification
Some features, such as booking, accepting jobs and messaging some members, require identity verification. You upload a photo of your ID card and a selfie. We review them and then delete the photos (see the Privacy Policy).
Verification is a safety check. It does not guarantee that a member is honest, skilled, licensed or insured, and it is not a background check.
8. Clients
- Describe jobs accurately, including the location, the work and any special conditions.
- Agree the price and the payment directly with the provider, and pay as agreed.
- Be available at the agreed time, treat providers with respect, and give honest ratings.
9. Providers
- Offer only services you can actually provide, and describe your skills, rates and availability honestly.
- Keep any licences, permits and insurance that the law or the work requires.
- Turn up on time, do the work safely and to a reasonable standard, and agree any changes with the client.
- You are responsible for your own business, tax and legal obligations. Zim Market does not employ you.
10. Jobs, bookings and cancellations
Jobs move through statuses in the app, such as Open, Pending, Accepted and Completed. You can cancel in the app where it allows, but any cancellation fee, refund or other arrangement is for you and the other person to agree directly.
11. Ratings and reviews
Ratings and written comments must be honest and based on a real experience. Do not post false, abusive, defamatory or private information. We may remove reviews that break these rules.
12. Chat and messages
Messages are for arranging work and listings. Be respectful. Do not harass, threaten, insult or send unwanted or sexual content, and do not share another person's private information without permission. We may read messages reported to us to deal with the report.
13. Marketplace
You may post goods, services and vacancies that are lawful, accurately described and yours to sell or offer. Do not post stolen, counterfeit, dangerous, illegal or restricted items. We may remove listings and suspend accounts that break these rules.
14. Notifications
We may send in-app notifications and emails about your account, your jobs and messages. You can change some of these in Settings.
15. Location
The app uses your location to show nearby jobs, providers and listings, and to show distances. You can choose whether to share your location. Some places show only an approximate area.
16. Acceptable use
You must not: break the law; commit fraud or scams; create fake profiles; impersonate anyone; harass or discriminate against anyone; post hateful or violent content; send spam; try to break, copy or scrape the app; or upload malware.
17. Safety
Meet in public places where possible, tell someone where you are going, and trust your judgment. If you feel unsafe, stop and leave. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services first, then report the incident to us.
18. Reports, disputes and suspensions
You can report members, chats and listings in the app. We review reports and may suspend or remove accounts or content. We may help where we can, but we are not obliged to decide disputes between users, and our decisions do not make us responsible for the outcome.
19. Ending your account
You can delete your account in Settings. Deletion is blocked while you have open jobs. Some information may be kept where the law requires it, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
20. Content
You keep the rights to content you post, such as photos, listings and messages. You give us a free, non-exclusive right to host and display that content in the app and on our website so the service works.
21. Third-party services
The app uses third-party services, including hosting, email delivery and map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Their terms apply to their services. EcoCash and Mukuru are separate companies, and we are not responsible for their services or fees.
22. Disclaimers
Zim Market is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, error-free or secure, or that any user, job or listing is genuine, safe or suitable.
23. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Zim Market is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, theft, delay or dispute arising from jobs, face-to-face payments, dealings between users, listings, or use of the app.
Where we are liable at all, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for boosts in the three months before the claim.
24. Your responsibility for claims
You agree to cover any claim against Zim Market that arises from your use of the app, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
25. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms. We will show the new date at the top. If you keep using Zim Market after a change, you accept the new Terms.
26. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. The courts of Zimbabwe have jurisdiction over any dispute with Zim Market.
